Baker Street Coffee, St James’s Street Coffee and The Fold are always on the look out for enthusiastic and effective baristas to join the growing business.

To Succeed in our business you must

Have prior coffee shop experience; serving speciality coffee. Strong barista skills serving espresso and filter coffee and being able to pour and present exceptional coffee.

You must also have an action oriented, proactive and positive attitude and utilise your time well between customers. You must be a confident and engaging person, ready to welcome each customer and determine their coffee interests and needs, ensuring that they receive prompt service.

You would be expected to show leadership skills and do what is necessary to help the business succeed, such as:

  • Improving quality results by evaluating and redesigning processes, implementing changes and exploring opportunities to generate revenue through attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products
  • Updating your job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Preparing and serving a variety of hot drinks and speciality coffees; following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques. Along with pastries, cakes and other savoury counter food items.
  • Promoting coffee consumption by educating customers; coffee grinding, selling coffee and accessories.
  • Accurately input orders into POS system and collect correct payment
  • Maintaining inventories by replenishing coffee bean supplies, cups and restocking of food item
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations. (Minimum requirement is current level 2 food handling certification)
  • Maintaining cleanliness of all public areas
  • Other jobs as necessary
